HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. J! THANKS FOR THE FIRST LOOK!

The Joker turns 75, and we are given the first official look at Jared Leto's character in the upcoming "Suicide Squad".

It would seem he has taken a unique approach, almost similar to Heath Ledger's "The Dark Knight" version of The Joker, but completely different at the same time. Jared Leto's clown prince of crime appears to have some edge to him. At least visually. He's tattooed, and even has a shiny grill. Which actually make sense given how many time Batman has punched his teeth out. And hopefully there is a Batman logo somewhere on his pale white frame. Now to see where Leto takes Mr. J in "Suicide Squad" performance wise.

THE SUICIDE SQUAD ADDS SOME BITE

Well, we assume he'll at least be a cannibal, but Killer Croc will be in the upcoming "Suicide Squad" film. Waylon Jones aka Killer Croc will be played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra, Thor: The Dark World, etc).

Immediate questions or concerns from this casting have nothing really to do with the actor, unlike majority of DC Comic movieverse castings. Pretty much everything begins with how Killer Croc will look visually. Waylon Jones appearance plays a large part in who he is as a character. Will he be a brute of a man, possibly a cannibal, but still a man? Similar to how he is in the graphic novel "Joker"? Or will Adewale be more of a voice behind a CGI version? With more of the traditional "giant crocodile walking on 2 legs"? It will be also interesting to see how Killer Croc blends in with the rest of the Suicide Squad cast. A crew that will include Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), The Joker (Jared Leto), and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) so far. Tom Hardy was to be Rick Flag, but was forced to drop the role (scheduling conflict). Another question is whether of not Batfleck will be making an appearance in the this film (set to release  August 5th, 2016)). With a quite a few of his rogues gallery being a part of the Squad it may be safe to say, at the very least post-credits, Ben Affleck will appear as Batman.

As is the case with so much of DC Comics movieverse, we will have to wait and see. Could we see Adewale revisit the character in a Batman film down the road? See? The questions keep popping up.

FROM RICH TO POOR. STEPHEN AMELL LOOKS TO DELIVER AS CASEY JONES

It's been announced and confirmed by his Facebook (and likely his twitter) page, but "Arrow" star, Stephen Amell will be joining the TMNT ranks as Casey Jones. That's right, the next installment of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will include fan favorite (well, favorite non-turtle), Casey Jones.

This is one of the rare moments that we are left to see how the story and script fare, as Stephen Amell has shown with not only with his role as playboy/vigilante Oliver Queen but also his charitable work, he'll get the job done. It will be interesting to see how his live action performance blends with CGI Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo.

OFFICIAL DEADPOOL SUIT REVEALED

We all saw the test footage that "leaked" its way across the internet awhile ago. Now things have gotten a bit more "official" after Ryan Reynolds tweeted "With great power, comes great irresponsibility #deadpool #officialsuit". Along with that came an image of Reynolds in his Deadpool suit, with a typical Deadpool comedic tone.

Personally still watch the teaser footage repeatedly, but this image at least shows us things are looking good on a visual level. Hopefully, this is just a small taste of things to come.

LEX LUTHOR'S LOOK. COMPLETE.

With the image intially coming from Entertainment Weekly, Jesse Eisenberg sporting the traditional hairstyle of Lex Luthor has made its way across the net. Although there is still a year until we actually see if Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will be any good, we at least now know that at some point (if not the entire film) Luthor will be bald. In a sense it somewhat raises a new question, which is if he will be bald the entire film, or will his hair loss be somehow a part of the story and his character development.

Well, here it is...

It's not easy to pull off the bald look, but Eisenberg doesn't look too bad. Whether or not it translates well on the big screen is yet to be seen, but so far so good. What do you think?

FIRST LOOK AT SUPERGIRL!

Melissa Benoist is all set to fly high in her Supergirl costume for CBS' upcoming series. Although she may not have the traditional blonde locks (slightly darker than the Supergirl stereotype but it works), but she is sporting a more traditional costume. Unlike some of the other costumes that we have seen, this one is almost guaranteed to translate well on screen. As it isn't much different than the Superman costumes (Superman Returns and Man Of Steel), and slightly darker than the previous costume worn by Helen Slater in the Supergirl movie.

We're still in "wait and see" mode as to how well this show will do. Arrow and The Flash have cleared a nice path for it though. And visually, things are looking like Supergirl will hold her own amongst DC Comics television universe.

SPIDER-MAN SWINGING INTO DISNEY

It's official. The rumors can end. Spider-Man will be appearing in the Marvel Studios "movieverse". What is huge about this, for those unaware of licensing and all that, Sony Pictures will still own the rights to Spider-Man while he will be appearing in Marvel's films. Also, there will be Marvel Studios owned characters appearing in Sony's Spider-Man films.

“Spider-Man is one of Marvel’s great characters, beloved around the world.  We’re thrilled to work with Sony Pictures to bring the iconic web-slinger into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which opens up fantastic new opportunities for storytelling and franchise building.”-Bob Iger, CEO and Chairman  of The Walt Disney Company.

"Marvel’s involvement will hopefully deliver the creative continuity and authenticity that fans demand from the MCU. I am equally excited for the opportunity to have Spider-Man appear in the MCU, something which both we at Marvel, and fans alike, have been looking forward to for years.”-Keven Feige, President of Marvel Studios.

It will be interesting how this will all play out, with there being two companies involved like this. It is not that anyone would be worried that Spider-Man (and other characters) would be misused per say, it is the creative direction that could slow things down here. Other questions arise of course, as to who will play Spider-Man in Marvel's movieverse? Will it be someone new, or Sony's current Spidey, Andrew Garfield? Which of the Marvel Studios owned characters will appear in a Sony fillm? And of course, will we see something similar with FOX and the X-Men franchise? Like everything, we'll have to wait and see.
